Teenage girl raped by uncle

A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle at Raka Khatiya village in Lalpur taluka of Jamnagar district, police said today.
The incident took place late last night, they said.
In a complaint lodged by the girl today, she accused her 23-year-old uncle of rape, Police Sub-Inspector in Lalpur town K I Jadeja said.
The accused, identified as Gautam Khara, who is her father's cousin, is at large.
"Last night, the girl and her family had gone to attend a wedding in the village. The venue of the ceremony was not far from their home. After reaching the place, the girl decided to go back home to collect some woollen clothes to keep herself warm in cold weather," Jadeja said.

Just then, the accused spotted his niece going home alone. He started following her and then took her to a secluded place and sexually assaulted her. The accused then threatened to kill her, if she revealed it to anybody.
The girl, however, told her parents about it, who approached the police and lodged a complaint, the PSI said.
According to Jadeja, the accused has been booked under various sections of the IPC, including 376 (rape) as well as Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
