The accused identified as 25-year-old Balu, an MSc student, allegedly sexually assaulted the girl, a student of class IX, in his room from February 20 to 22, Kanchanbagh police station inspector K Manoj Kumar said, based on a complaint lodged by the victim's family members.
Following the complaint, a case under relevant sections of the IPC and under provisions of the POCSO Act has been registered and the accused is being questioned.
