According to police, around twenty women were working on cotton fields when the lightning struck.
The deceased were identified as Parvathamma (30), Manemma (20) and minor girl Shanthamma.
The twelve injured women were rushed to Narayanapeta hospital, where they are undergoing treatment, police said.
