After the elderly woman raised an alarm when the youth made a bid to sexually assault her, another woman Ram Rati, who was working at a neighbouring field, came to help her, police said.
At this, the youth snatched Ram Rati's sickle and injured her before fleeing from the spot, police said, adding that the accused was later arrested.
A case of attempt to rape and causing grievous hurt has been lodged against the accused, police said.
