The scheme is aimed at helping unmarried women and those women who are either deserted by their husbands or are staying away from their husbands, state Panchayat Raj minister Jupally Krishna Rao told reporters here.
About three lakh single women are estimated to be living in Telangana.
The government would accept applications for the scheme from May 8, he said.
Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to implement the scheme to help single women lead a life with self-respect, the minister added.
