Telecom services provider Uninor, which will now operate under brand name of Telenor, will expand its exclusive store count to 300-320 by the year- end in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
The company currently has a total of 250 exclusive stores in both the States. Uninor today changed the brand name to Telenor, the name of its parent company, as part of a new re-branding exercise.
"As part of expansion, we will have 300-320 own stores in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from the existing 250," Telenor India, Circle Business Head-AP & Telangana, Shrinath Kotian told reporters here.
"We changed the brand identity as per our global name which is Telenor. We aim to deliver innovative products, be it through affordable prices, simple services or easy to understand offers. We believe that this new brand position will appeal to the existing customer segments and also attract a wider segment of audience," Kotian said.
"We are also doing modernisation of our network which will enable us to provide high speed data services in the days to come," he said.
On call drops, Shrinath said "We will go ahead and ensure that every drop of call, whether it is local, STD or ISD call, is reimbursed."
The company serves 5.6 million subscribers in AP and Telangana Circle. Telenor India is ranked at fourth position in revenue and customer market share in the six circles where it operates, Kotian added.
