At least eight places in the state recorded a maximum temperature of more than 40 degrees Celsius with Churu and Kota being the hottest places at 43.2.
The maximum at Sriganganagar was recorded at 42.9 degrees Celsius, a MeT department report said here.
Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bikaner recorded a maximum of 41.4, 41.2 and 41 degree Celsius respectively, whereas the day temperature in Pilani, Jaipur and Dabok were at 40.8, 40.5 and 38.4 degrees respectively, according to the report.
Light to moderate rainfall occurred at a few places in Jaipur division and at isolated places in Kota, Ajmer and Bikaner divisions during the last 24 hours.
The weather would remain dry with possibility of heat waves at isolated pockets in the state during next 24 hours, a forecast said.
