Temperatures drop in Punjab, Haryana after rains

A day after many places in Punjab and Haryana were lashed by rains, the maximum temperatures plunged several degrees below the normal level.
According to the MeT report, Chandigarh recorded a high of 34.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below normal.
Ambala in Haryana registered a maximum of 36.3 degrees Celsius, one below normal, while at Hisar it was 35 degrees Celsius, down by five notches.
Karnal and Bhiwani also recorded below normal maximums at 35.6 and 37.8 degrees Celsius, respectively.
The maximum at Narnaul dropped significantly and settled at 33.7 degrees Celsius, seven notches below normal.
In Punjab, Patiala and Ludhiana recorded identical maximum temperatures at 35 degrees Celsius while in Amritsar it was 38 degrees Celsius.
The MeT in its forecast said light to moderate rain or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the two states over the next two days.
