Chandigarh recorded a high of 33.4 deg C after light rains, Met office said here.
Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar was lashed by 31 mm of rains and the maximum there settled at 28.8 deg C, down by five notches.
Ludhiana (7 mm) and Patiala (4 mm) were also lashed by rains and the respective maximums recorded in both the towns were 32.5 deg C and 32.6 deg C.
In Haryana, Ambala and Hisar recorded maximum temperatures of 32.1 deg C and 33.6 deg C.
The MeT has forecast moderate rains which may occur at many places in Punjab and Haryana tomorrow.
