Police have registered a case against ten persons for allegedly producing fake documents to stand surety to a robbery case accused who was granted bail by court, police said.
Police have not made any arrest in this connection so far.
The robbery case accused has been identified as Tahir Hassan Izzazat Ali Irani (30), a resident of Momin Pura in Bhiwandi, who was arrested by Kalwa police in seven cases under section 392 (punishment for robbery).
Irani recently granted bail on the basis of the documents provided by the ten men who stood surety for him as per the bail condition.
They had provided their residential address at Kalwa, Ambernath, and Dombivali in Thane district and Powai in Mumbai, which was found to be fake.
Police have booked them under various sections of IPC.
