A day after meeting the vanquished Mumbai Ranji Trophy team members at the Wankhede Stadium at the request of coach Pravin Amre, cricketer icon Sachin Tendulkar met the players of the victorious Jammu and Kashmir squad at the same venue this morning.
According to J&K team media manager Shahana Fatima, the batting legend spent over an hour with the team members. He had asked them to meet him at the stadium.
"He congratulated the team for the victory (by four wickets over Mumbai) and told them not to get carried away and continue the good work," Shahana said.
The team later departed for Chennai to play their second Group A Ranji game against Tamil Nadu at a new venue, Dindigul, 65 kms from the temple town of Madurai.
Yesterday Tendulkar, who had a prior appointment with the Mumbai team members to talk to them after the game, spent some time but did not meet the J&K players who were celebrating their victory after stunning 40-time Ranji champions.
