"A terrorist is a terrorist. He has no caste," Banerjee said after inaugurating a Jagadhatri puja pandal by Posta Bazar Merchants Association.
Referring to the riots that had broken out after the assassination of Indira Gandhi on October 31, 1984 she said all people from one community should not be seen with the same eyes.
The Chief Minister said she has helpers at her home whose surname she doesn't know.
"That is because I never ask anyone their surname. I respect all," she said.
