Tata Global Beverage today reported 24.77 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 77.92 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2015, driven mainly by good performance in India, Russia and Canada.
The company had posted a net profit of Rs 62.45 crore for the July-September quarter of previous fiscal, Tata Global Beverage Ltd (TGBL) said in a BSE filing
Company's consolidated net sales during the quarter under review stood at Rs 1,999.09 crore, up 1.76 per cent, compared to Rs 1,964.41 crore during the same period in the previous fiscal.
"Overall its a good performance by the Indian business. We also have good performance in markets like Russia and markets like Canada. That couples with our interest cost and interest impact cost, these were the contributors to the good performance. Overall it was a satisfactory quarter," TGBL CFO L Krishna Kumar told PTI.
There was some impact on high coffee commodity cost during the quarter, he added.
During the quarter, TGBL has a good improvement in volumes of tea in India as it had relaunched Tata Tea Premium across all major cities.
This quarter TGBL continued its focus on innovation and investment behind brands.
In UK market, Tetley launched Tetley Super Fruits, while in Canada a marketing campaign for the Tetley Signature collection was launched to drive awareness and trial as well as educate consumers on the benefits of the unique drawstring tea bag.
