Thakre moves breach of privilege motion against CM on Land Act

Congress MLC Manikrao Thakre today moved a breach of privilege motion against Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in the Legislative Council over a notification on the Land Acquisition Act.
Thakre objected to the notification regarding the Land Act issued by the government on March 13 when the House was in session.
"How can a notification be issued when the House is on. The members were not even aware of such a notification," Thakre said.
"It is wrong to issue the notification without the Land Acquisition Act being implemented by the Centre. Also the government did not inform the House about the notification when the Budget session of Legislature is on. I move a breach of privilege motion against the Chief Minister for his decision to move the notification," Thakre said.

MLC Prakash Binsale, who was in the Chair, said that the matter will be consulted with Legislative Council Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar who will then accept or reject the motion moved by Thakre.
