Thalassemia affected prisoner dies

A thalassemia affected convicted inmate of Palamau Central Jail died in course of treatment in the Palamau district hospital today, officials said.
Bihari Ravidas (35) who was undergoing treatment for last one year, was taken to the hospital after his health deteriorated in the morning.
He died there after a few hours, Jail Superintendent Uday Kushwaha said.
Convicted in a rape case, Ravidas, a resident of Garwah district, was in jail for the last four years.
Deputy Commissioner of Palamau, K N Jha said a magisterial enquiry would be conducted into the death of Ravidas.
