Thane historian Dawood Dalvi passes away

Historian and educationist Dawood Dalvi died of protracted illness at his house here today.
He was 83.
Apart from being the principal of Dnyansadhna College here, he also served as the president of Konkan Itihas Parishad, which carried out research on the history of the district.
He was instrumental in making of documentary "Ase Ghadle Thane".
Dalvi has written several books on the history of the district and was specialised in the study of caves in the district and as well as in Maharashtra.
He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.
His funeral will start from his house tomorrow morning from Dhobi Ali locality.
