There is a need for introspection in Congress: Manas Bhuniya

Only Congress has the conviction to stop the growth of communal BJP in Bengal and there was a need for the party's state unit to introspect over the debacle in the recent by-polls in the state, party leader Manas Bhuniya said here today.
"There is a need for serious introspection within the party about what went wrong. The communal BJP is trying to make inroads in Bengal. But the cultural heritage of Bengal is so strong that BJP can never create a strong foothold here.
"If you have to stop BJP, then Congress is the need of the hour because Congress only has the conviction to fight BJP," Bhunia said.

In a major boost to Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress, facing the heat of Saradha scam, today swept the crucial Bongoan Lok Sabha and Krishnaganj Assembly by-poll reasserting its political supremacy in West Bengal where BJP is trying to make inroads.
Congress failed to make any impact in the polls and was virtually reduced to a non-entity as it managed to secure only 29,000 votes in Bongaon and 4500 votes in Krishnaganj.
