Those engaged in trade of spurious seeds to face jail: KCR

Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao today said astringent law would bemade to send those involved in the trade of spurious seeds and fertilisers to jail.
Rao, who held a meeting on agriculture with officials, said an ordinance would be issued shortly to check the menace of spurious seeds and fertilisers, a release from his office said.
The government would stand by farmers in different stages of farming, he said.
"The CM has requested Union Fertilisers and Chemicals Minister Anant Kumar to ensure adequate supply of fertilisers for the coming kharif season," the release said.
Rao spoke to Kumar over phone, it added.
