BJP MLA Ghanshyam Tiwari, who was served a show-cause notice earlier this month for anti-party activities, today said the ministers who have initiated a signature campaign to "corner" him are helpless as they want to safeguard their ministerial berths.
After Rajasthan cabinet ministers, including Rajendra Rathore, and MP Nihalchand Meghwal released a signed statement against Tiwari, he said, "I have full sympathy with them. The ministers were being pressurised continuously by the Chief Minister to release the statement."
"If the ministers are able to save their berths because of me then I am happy for them," the MLA said.
In his reply to the show-cause notice, Tiwari had claimed that he did not attend party meetings and events due to threat to his life and that he will not bow down to the "corrupt and inferior leadership".
Meanwhile, Vimal Agarwal, the Jaipur district chief of Deen Dayal Vahini of which Tiwari is the president, questioned the intent of ministers initiating the joint signature campaign saying that they have violated disciplinary norms of the party.
Ministers like Rajendra Rathore, who were once suspended from the party on disciplinary grounds, are now questioning Tiwari's integrity, he said.
The state executive member of Deen Dayal Vahini, Ramkishor Rawat, said those cornering Tiwari should have introspected before questioning his integrity and dedication for the BJP.
Tiwari's political life is crystal clear, he said.
