Thousands of asthma patients from all over the country today had the famous fish 'prasadam', prepared by the Bathini family, which has been doing so for 173 years, at Nampally area here.
Telangana Legislative Council Chairman Swamy Goud and state Animal Husbandry Minister T Srinivas Yadav launched the distribution of the fish prasadam, a state government release said.
The prasadam is distributed on the occasion of 'Mrigasira Karti' by the Bathini family every year.
The fisheries department has provided 1.30 lakh fishlings for distribution, Yadav said, adding that the state government has made elaborate arrangements for the event.
