Based on an initial enquiry, the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Department had suspended two persons and action would be taken against another after the probe was completed, RDPR Minister H K Patil said in the state Assembly.
The Minister said Suresh took the extreme step on June 23 after he faced a threat to his life for refusing to clear files of substandard civil works under Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme.
The Chamarajnagar Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer K H Narasimhamurthy had posted Suresh in Kurahatti Hosur village to probe complaints of substandard civil works being carried out by the panchayat, Patil said.
