Three Billboards inspires protest following Florida shooting
Press Trust of India Los Angeles Award season's favourite "Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri" has inspired online activist group Avaaz's protest near Miami, Florida following the deadly shooting at a Parkland high school. The shooting in which 17 people were killed and 14 others were injured, three trucks were parked close to the Doral-based office of Senator Marco Rubi and each carried one line of a message for the Florida lawmaker, reported Entertainment Weekly. "Slaughtered in school." "And still no gun control?" "How come, Marco Rubio?" The protesters took a cue from Frances McDormands character in the Oscar-nominated film, which sees a mother erect three signs criticising the police's inability to track down her daughter's killer.
