The deceased were identified as Jaga Patro (22), Alok Kumar (28) and Radhika Maguri (18), all residents of Ambadola, they said.
Villagers spotted the bodies hanging from the tree around 4 PM and informed the police who later recovered the bodies and sent for autopsy.
"The reason behind the incident is yet to be ascertained. Investigation has been initiated and whether it is a case of suicide or there is some foul play will be established once we complete our investigation," said SDPO (Muniguda) Ananta Mallick.
