The woman in her 30s, Vindhyeshwari Gautam killed herself and her children this afternoon after she prepared a pyre out of wooden logs and cow dung in her house and tied her son Vivek (12) and Shrishti (6) to it. She poured kerosene all over and then lied down before she lit up the pyre, District Additional Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Yadav said.
Bablu had gone to drop Vindhyeshwari's younger sister home.
"Initial investigations suggest that family discord prompted Vindhyeshwari to take the extreme step, the official said.
A case has been registered, the bodies have been sent for postmortem and further probe is underway, the ASP added.
