Three dead as woman sets herself ablaze with two kids

Three of a family were today charred to death when a woman set herself afire alongwith with her two minor children, whom she allegedly tied to a pyre made at her house in Pahadi village here, police said.
The woman in her 30s, Vindhyeshwari Gautam killed herself and her children this afternoon after she prepared a pyre out of wooden logs and cow dung in her house and tied her son Vivek (12) and Shrishti (6) to it. She poured kerosene all over and then lied down before she lit up the pyre, District Additional Superintendent of Police Rameshwar Yadav said.

The alleged suicide took place when her husband Bablu Gautam was out, police said.
Bablu had gone to drop Vindhyeshwari's younger sister home.
"Initial investigations suggest that family discord prompted Vindhyeshwari to take the extreme step, the official said.
A case has been registered, the bodies have been sent for postmortem and further probe is underway, the ASP added.
