The incident occurred last evening when victims identified as Mayank Sahu, Dinesh Dhurandhar and Ravi Lodhi, all students of MMCT engineering college, had gone to Kurud stop dam under Mandir Hasaud police station limits for a picnic, a police official told PTI today.
While Mayank was a student of M.Tech, the two others were pursuing B.E.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the trio had gone for an outing. They entered the water at the stop dam for bathing and drowned, he said.
When some passersby saw an abandoned motorcycle and clothes belonging to the students, they informed the police following which a search was launched to trace the missing persons, he said.
A case has been registered in this connection, he said.
