Three held for attacking immigration officer

Three persons were arrested for allegedly physically assaulting an immigration officer at the airport here today, police said.
Colombo-bound Anwar, Raut and Jayaraman were held after they allegedly attacked Immigration Officer Kasinathan (47) when he questioned them about their frequent visits to Sri Lanka, police said.
Subsequently, an altercation ensued which resulted in the official being attacked, they said adding Airport police were immediately informed following which they apprehended them.
The three persons were city-based traders, they added.
