Three Indian-origin girls in South Africa have been selected to participate in various shows hosted by Zee TV in India.
Shilpa Govan, 20, who was named Miss Zee TV South Africa, has already impressed Zee TV management in India to give her a three-year contract.
Kimara Jamun, who was crowned Zee TV Miss India South Africa International 2016 winner at a fashion-based pageant, will be competing against the winners from a number of countries for the Miss Indian Princess International title.
India-born singer and musician Maithili Shome, 16, will be participating in the 'Sa Re Ga Ma Pa' music show.
Shome moved to South Africa with her family when she was five, and has pursued the musical heritage started by her mother, Monali. She also has her own band specialising in Indo-African fusion music.
"This is all part of ensuring the rightful place in Zee TV projects from among the tens of thousands of Indian South Africans who make up our global audience, in line with Zee TV's dictum of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam, meaning 'the world is my family', said Harish Goyal Zee TV Africa CEO.
"Sa Re Ga Ma Pa has moulded young talent for years, and we at Zee TV Africa cannot wait to see what this season of the show has in store for our fantastic singer Maithili, who will be representing South Africa," Goyal added.
