Haryana police today sent incharges of three posts in Karnal to police lines for dereliction of duty after Palwinder Singh Pinda, who facilitated the escape of six prisoners from Nabha jail, managed to pass through Karnal in an SUV.
"Chowki incharges of Sitamai, Ramnagar and Munak police posts have been sent to police lines," Karnal SP Pankaj Nain said today.
Pinda escaped in his SUV to Uttar Pradesh after passing through Kaithal and Karnal in Haryana after assisting in a sensational jailbreak in Patiala in Punjab on Sunday.
He in a Fortuner managed to jump a police post near Keorak village on Kaithal-Pehowa road.
Pinda was arrested on November 27 in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh, few hours after the jailbreak.
Nain said that the vigil has been increased in the district in the wake of Nabha jailbreak. However, he said, that there was no likelihood of escapees hiding in Karnal.
Haryana police had already recovered two vehicles, suspected to have been used the Nabha jailbreak at Kaithal.
First car was found abandoned in Solumajra in Kaithal while another car was found at Faral village again in Kaithal.
Haryana has been put on high alert and security has been beefed up at crucial points in the wake of the jailbreak incident in neighbouring Punjab.
