Three men on global walkathon reach Yavatmal

Three men who have been touring the globe on foot to spread 'message of peace' today arrived at city in east Maharashtra.
Avadh Biharilal (49), Mahindra Pratap (37) and Jitendra Pratap (39) have so far crossed ten countries including Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, China, Myanmar, Pakistan, Thailand, Afghanistan besides parts of India.
"We have covered 3,05,000 kms on foot," said Biharilal claiming that Guinness Book of Records and LIMCA Book of Records have taken note of their yatra seven times.
Biharilal, the eldest member of the group, said he had been on walk for last 26 years and that prime minister (late) Indira Gandhi had flagged off the yatra.

He said other members joined the yatra later.
Recounting the challenges during the walkathon, he said, "One of our team members Ashok Kumar (36) breathed his last during the yatra due to jaundice whereas two lost their eye sight due to bad weather".

He said their group now comprises 20 people and their next stop will be Mumbai.
"Apart from the message of peace, we have been propagating various welfare schemes of Central government (in India)," Biharilal told reporters and claimed that they have planted 3.2 crore saplings during the yatra.
The trio were received by district collector Sachindra Pratap Singh.

"We do not carry any belongings with us. We start our journey every day after yoga session in morning and travel 40 kms. We will now proceed to Mumbai via Amravati and Aurangabad," Biharilal said.
