Three militants killed in encounter in JK

Three militants were killed today in the three-day old operation launched by security forces in Tangdhar sector of Kupwara district near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir.
"Three militants have been killed so far in the operation that was launched on August 6," an Army spokesman said.
He said three weapons and some ammunition have also been recovered from the scene of the encounter.
"The operation is still in progress to ensure that all the militants, if any remaining, in the area are neutralised," he added.
An Army jawan was killed in the initial firefight between the security forces and the militants.
