Three missing as autorickshaw falls into Narmada canal

Three persons, including a three-year-old girl and her mother, went missing after their autorickshaw hurtled down into Narmada canal near Vadodara town today, police said.
"An autorickshaw carrying three persons of a family plunged into Narmada canal as the driver lost control over the vehicle. Two members of the family and the driver are missing since the mishap occurred," said Inspector P N Padhiyar of Waghodia police station.
Those who remain untraced are identified as Ritaben Baria (24), her daughter Drushti (3) and driver Gopalbhai (32) while Ritaben's husband Piyush Udesinh Baria (28) swam out to safety, Padhiyar said.
The Barias hail from Navapor village in Chhota Udepur district and the family was going to Vadodara where Piyush is employed with a private firm, police said.
