Three narcotic smugglers arrested in last 24 hours in Jammu

Three alleged narcotic smugglers were arrested here in the last 24 hours with a large quantity of intoxicants recovered from their possession.
Police said that a car was stopped to carry out its search in a surprise check at Narwal area of Jammu.
During the search, the police recovered 13,500 intoxicant capsules from the possession of Ajay Kumar Sahney and Vikram Singh, both residents of Jammu, a police officer said.
He said that both the accused were arrested and intoxicant capsules were seized.
In another incident, a narcotic smuggler was arrested along with a large quantity of intoxicants from Janipur area of the city.

A police team in Janipur area of the city asked a pedestrian to stop during a routine patrolling yesterday as he was roaming in suspicious manner, a police officer said.

He said that during the checking, police recovered 1,200 intoxicant capsules from his possession.
The accused has been identified as Ajay Sharma, a resident of Roop Nagar of Jammu, the officer said.
He said that the accused had acquired these intoxicant capsules from the Pathankote area of Punjab and was supposed to sell them to the youth in Jammu.
All the three accused have been booked under various sections of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
