Another person was injured in the attack, after which unidentified attackers fled from the spot, police said.
"Three persons were stabbed to death by unidentified attackers in Ashvinikumar road area of the city tonight," DCP of Surat city Jagdish Patel said.
Among the three killed in the attack include Bharat Patel brother of leader of opposition in Surat Municipal Corporation Prafful Patel, police said. The other two killed were identified as Balu Hirani and Ashok Patel.
Police has started investigation in the case.
