Three policemen booked on rape charges

Three policemen, among them bodyguard of a district magistrate, have been booked for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman near police line in Madhubani district, police said today.
Superintendent of Police Akhtar Hussain today said the bodyguard, identified as Anil Singh, forcibly took away a 20-year-old woman from her house at Lakshmisagar area to a nearby farmland on Saturday night.
He drugged and gagged her before raping her with two of his accomplices, he said.
Her relatives found her in the farmland in a disrobed condition, he said, adding they admitted her to the sadar hospital.
Later, an FIR was lodged against Singh and the two other policemen on the basis of the victim's statement.

The bodyguard, who has been absconding since the incident, has been suspended while inquiry is underway against the two suspected accomplices.
Police are conducting raids to apprehend the accused policemen, Hussain added.
