Tiger found dead in Maharashtra

A carcass of a tiger was found near Mahadwadi village in the district, forest officials said today.
The highly decomposed carcass was found on the Chandrapur-Mal road by the forest officials, a release issued by the Deputy Director (Buffer) under Tadoba Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR), said.
It was found in compartment number 357 in Mahadwadi sub-range under Chandrapur range of forests that comes under Buffer Zone of TATR, it added.
Prima facie, the big cat might have died some 10-12 days ago. Its body parts like claws, canines, whiskers were found intact but its jaw was fractured, the release said.
At present its age could not be ascertained and autopsy was also conducted, officials said.
