Elsewhere, brass utensil scrap and lead also gained on better offtake from consumer industries, while, copper and zinc declined on subdued demand from industrial users.
Tin prices surged by Rs 20 per kg to Rs 1,405 from Monday's closing level of Rs 1,385 and brass utensils scrap moved up Rs 3 per kg to Rs 289 from Rs 286.
Lead edged up by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 154 as against Rs 152 previously.
However, zinc dropped by Rs 7 per kg to Rs 210 from overnight level of Rs 217.
Copper armature, copper sheet cutting and brass sheet cutting softened by a Re per kg each to Rs 374, Rs 370 and Rs 302 respectively.
