Senior journalist T K Rajalakshmi was today elected the new president of the Indian Women's Press Corps (IWPC), while Jyoti Malhotra and Shobhna Jain were declared vice-presidents of the media body.
According to a statement issued by the Delhi-based IWPC, Shalini Bhardwaj was elected joint secretary and Preeti Mehra, its treasurer.
The IWPC said a fresh election would be held for the post of the general secretary since there was a tie between the two contestants in the April 14 poll.
"The election schedule will be announced in consultation with the newly elected office bearers," the statement said.
The 21-member managing committee consists of Mrinal Pande, Suhasini Haidar, Coomi Kapoor, Manjari Chatrurvedi, Huma Siddiqui, Maya Mirchandani, Annapurna Jha, Tripti Nath, Sarvesh, Aditi Kapoor, Parul Sharma, Amiti Sen, Renu Agal, Vijaya Laxmi, Bishakha De Sarkar, Madhvi Sally, Aditi Bhal, Kadambini Sharma, Aditi Nigam, Anju Grover and Saroj Dhuliya.
