TMC leader and Nandigram Block II dy pradhan shot dead

Trinamool Congress leader and deputy pradhan of Nandigram Block II of East Midnapore district Samar Maiti was shot dead by gunmen tonight, police sources said.
Maiti was returning home from the local market when the attackers fired at him, the sources said.
He was taken to Tamluk Hospital but the hospital authorities referred him to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata as his condition was serious.
Maiti succumbed to his injuries while arrangements were being made to shift him to SSKM Hospital in Kolkata, police said.
Superintendent of Police Sukesh Jain said police has launched a hunt to nab the miscreants who fired at Maiti.
