BJP national secretary Rahul Sinha ridiculed the Trinamool Congress leadership today over its statement that people want a Bengali prime minister and said that the party should stop "day dreaming of conquering New Delhi" and instead focus on retaining its ground in Bengal.
Sinha's comments follow senior TMC leader and state transport minister Suvendu Adhikari's statement at a rally in Purulia yesterday that in 2019 Lok Sabha election the party win all the 42 seats in West Bengal.
"The people of West Bengal want a Bengali prime minister. Its high time we have a Bengali prime minister," he had said.
Sinha told PTI, "They (TMC) should stop making such ridiculous statements and stop day dreaming of having Mamata Banerjee as prime minister. Instead of dreaming of conquering the seat of power in Delhi the TMC should focus in retaining its ground in Bengal."
