TN CM honours sports persons

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister K Palaniswami today announced cash awards amounting to Rs 31 lakhs to sports persons who bagged various medals in the 7th World Dwarf Games held in Canada recently.
Three sports persons from Tamil Nadu have bagged medals in various competitions during the contest that witnessed participation from 42 countries, an official release here said.
K Ganesan and C Manoj from Madurai and A Selvaraj from Pudukottai districts bagged gold and silver medals and made the state and country proud, Palaniswami said in the release.
While extending his greetings to the trio, the Chief Minister announced a cash award of Rs 15 lakh to be given to Ganesan for bagging three gold medals, Rs 11 lakh toC Manoj for winning one gold and two silver medals and Rs five lakh to Selvaraj for securing one gold medal.

The Chief Minister also announced that Rs 4.65 lakh be given to the coaches of the athletes on the occasion.
