: The Tamil Nadu government today filed a criminal defamation complaint against PMK founder S Ramadoss in a court here.
In his defamation complaint filed on behalf of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa in the Principal Sessions Court, City Public Prosecutor M L Jegan referred to Ramadoss' press releases on April 28, 30 and May 14 this year and contended that the language used by the PMK founder was defamatory.
He submitted that the releases would harm the reputation of the Chief Minister and was not in good faith and further sought a direction that Ramadoss be prosecuted under Section 500 (punishment for defamation) of the IPC.
The case was taken on file by Principal Sessions Judge G Chokkalingam.
