Tamil Nadu Governor Banwarilal Purohit has requested organisers of functions and those who call on him to avoid presenting bouquets and shawls to him.
"He has requested that this may be adhered to henceforth," a Raj Bhavan release said.
Last month, Purohit was sworn in as the 25th Governor of the state succeeding Maharashtra Governor CH Vidyasagar Rao who was given additional charge of Tamil Nadu.
Purohit became the first full-time governor of the state since the retirement of K Rosaiah in August 2016.
