Tamil Nadu hammered Assam 13-1 in a Pool 'G' match of the 9th Hockey India Senior National men's Hockey Championship 'B' Division here Friday.
Also recording wins were Hockey Maharashtra, Manipur Hockey, Central Industrial Security Force, Chhattisgarh Hockey, Hockey Coorg, Food Corporation of India, Delhi Hockey and Sports Authority of India.
In the Tamil Nadu-Assam match, the home team went ahead in the 9th minute through a field goal by V Vinod Rayer. The second quarter saw the hosts pump in five goals.
Rayer added another to his tally while K Selvaraj, P Dhamu, J Joshua Benedict Wesley and S Manikandan joined the scorers list. Shubam Singh pulled one back for Assam.
In the second half, Tamil Nadu scored seven goals to record a second successive win in the league.
Rayer, Selvaraj Dhamu, Wesley and Manikandan added one more goal to their tally while N Navinkumar and K Ajay slotted one goal each.
In another Pool 'G' match, Central Industrial Security Force beat Hockey HIM 6-1.
Hockey Maharashtra beat Telangana Hockey 5-3 in a Pool 'A' match despite Ramkrishna Bodigum coming up with a hat-trick.
In a high-scoring Pool 'B' match, Manipur Hockey beat Hockey Andaman & Nicobar 19-0. The goal scorers were: Mani H Singh (2nd minute, 20th, 36th, 45th, 51st), Nirajkumar Waribam (5th), Rabichandra Moirangthem (7th, 37th), Dipu L Singh (12th, 40th, 42th), Sanjoymani Mairembam (18th, 19th), Dollar Kshetrimayum (26th), Laishram Mantosh (30th, 41st), Thingam Herojit (43rd), Heramani Singh Lisham (48th), Ningombam Bhakar (53rd).
Hockey Madhya Pradesh drew with Hockey Mizoram 2-2.
In another Pool D match, Chhattisgarh Hockey beat Andhra Hockey Association 3-2.
For the winners, Junaid Ahmad starred with three goals in the 27th, 31st and 48nd minutes while Gopal Raju Goddindla (15th) and Harish Pamisetty (51st) scored for Andhra Hockey Association.
Results: Pool 'H': Hockey Coorg beat Goans Hockey 10-1, Pool 'F': Food Corporation of India beat Hockey Himachal 8-1.
Pool 'E': Delhi Hockey beat Kerala Hockey 4-3.
Pool 'G': Tamil Nadu beat Assam 13-1, CISF beat Hockey HIM 6-1.
