"A jeep carrying the banned goods was caught on Thursday night. The vehicle was stopped near Golden Dyes Naka on suspicion and after a search, gutka and tobacco products of various brands worth Rs 8.10 lakh were found inside," Police Sub Inspector A A Shedge of Rabodi police station said.
The driver, identified as Manishkumar Singh (23), who hails from Sarsa in Bihar, was arrested yesterday.
The jeep worth Rs 3 lakhs has also been seized and the driver has been charged under various sections of the IPC and Food and Drug Administration regulations, he said.
