Top seed Jeevan Nedunchezhiya breezed into the semifinals of the men's singles with a clinical performance against fifth seed Ashwin Vijayaraghawan.

The Tamil Nadu lad had little trouble in overcoming Ashwin, 6-1 6-2.

In the semifinal, Jeevan will face third seed Siddharth Rawat, who came from a set down to defeat Vaidik Munshaw 1-6 6-2 6-1.

In the other quarterfinal matches, Ramkumar Ramanathan looked at complete ease as he strolled into the next round beating Delhi boy Saurabh Singh 6-1 6-2, while Arjun Khade emerged victorious after a hard-fought battle.

The Maharashtra boy held on to his nerves right through the match to get the better of 11th seed Mohit Mayur Jayaprakash, 7-5 6-4.

Arjun will take on Ramkumar for a place in the final.

The women's singles was also heading for a similar script with all top seeds making it to the next round before Sri Vaishnavi Peddireddy knocked out fourth seed Shweta Rana in three sets.

Vaishnavi fought her way back into the match after being a set down to oust Shweta 1-6 6-2 6-1.

Top two seeds in the women's singles, Rishika Sunkara and Prerna Bhambri, however, managed to win their respective matches and are very much on their way for a title clash, which is scheduled to be held on Saturday.

While Rishika proved her top billing with a 6-1 6-2 thrashing of eighth seed Vaniya Dangwal, Prerna eased past Delhi girl Simran Kaur Handa 6-0 6-4. (MORE)
