Three pesons came in a car to the village and threw four gunny bags containing the currency notes from the vehicle to the road side.
On information police reached the spot and seized the bags, A Vedharathinam, Additional Supderintendent said.
Bank officials would be called to check the genuiness of the torn currency, he said, adding, a search was on to nab the three persons.
