Four persons have died in the past 24 hours after consuming toxic country-made liquor in Pakistan's Hyderabad city.
The two of the deceased died today at the civil hospital while two others passed away yesterday night after being admitted for toxic liquor consumption.
"We have three other persons admitted for the same case and they are being treated," on duty Doctor Rajesh said.
The Hyderabad police has arrested hundreds of liquor sellers and other criminal elements, thereby filing FIRs against them.
It appears as if the menace of manufacturing local liquor in unlicensed outlets in the slums was still prevalent, DIG Hyderabad Sanaullah Abbassi said.
"We have told the families of the deceased who mostly belong to the Bheel community to file cases against those who sold the liquor," he said.
Police has recovered 7,000 liters of harmful chemical from illegal plants which is used in the preparation of the toxic liquor.
At least 20 people had died in Sindh province's Hyderabad city after consuming toxic liquor, while another 23 persons were killed in different areas of Karachi.
