TPA employee booked for cheating insurance cos

An employee of a Third Party Administrator (TPA) was charged with offences for allegedly duping two health insurance companies to the tune of Rs 3.55 lakh, police said today.
An employee of TPA Paramount Health Services, Thane unit Ravindra Kumar Singh was booked for deceiving two health insurance companies, including Reliance General Insurance by providing fake medical documents and forged identity proofs, Shree Nagar police station sub-inspector H S Gavit said.
According to the complaint filed by a senior officer of Paramount Services yesterday, Singh cheated the companies by changing his name to Rohit Shetty and providing fake medical bills and forged id card PAN card, the officer said.
In 2012-13, Singh deceived Reliance General Insurance by furnishing fake medical bills, proof of payment, credit card payments, discharge card and prescriptions from Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital to claim an amount of Rs 2.12 lakh, Gavit said.
This year in April, he cheated one more company in a similar manner by claiming Rs 1.43 lakh for reimbursement.
The TPA filed the complaint when they came to know about Singh's activities.
A case has been filed against Singh under IPC sections 420 (cheating), 419 (cheating by personation), 465 (forgery), 467 (forgery of valuable security), 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating).
No arrest has been made so far and further probe into the matter was on, he added.
