JJMP activist, Aman, was killed in the encounter with the Tritiya Prastuti Committee in the early hours at Heranj area of Latehar district, Superintendent of Police Michael S Raj told reporters here.
The JJMP activists, who went to hand over Aman's body to his family at a village, also fired injuring three villagers seriously, the police officer said.
The injured were identified as Sudama Singh, Nagendra Singh and Sunil Singh, he said.
Two of the injured were referred to the Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi, he added.
An INSAS rifle, two regular rifles, one country-made rifle, one grenade, a sword, bullets, three pairs of uniform of security personnel and mobiles he said.
