Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (TPDDL) has conducted a study for an implementable plan for using Distributed Energy Resource technologies including solar technology and as per the study report a solar potential of nearly 400 MW of rooftop solar capacity had been identified in its licensed area in next 5-6 years, said a TPDDL official.
It has already set up 15 Grid Connected Solar Plants, with a total capacity of 1.65 MW, in its own premises including 12 stand alone solar lighting systems of 1 KW capacity each in RWA porta cabins, under New Delhi Municipal Corporation area, the official said.
"Our mission is to help Delhi become a green city. We believe our consumers will be greatly benefitted with quality solar projects at affordable cost," said Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of TPDDL.
